At the races? You bet. Grandma Ruby was a trend setter in her own time, and that's just one of the reasons she's a proud sponsor of Johanna “Jo” Long and Tiffany Daniels, women of speedway racing.
Ahead of her time, and ahead of the pack.
Raised during the Great Depression, Mamo knew how to turn mundane foods and dessert into delectable meals that friends and neighbors would talk about for days. At the time, it was pretty uncommon for women to work outside the home. And yet, Grandma Ruby had the courage to step out of the norm and work in a local school cafeteria.
That’s right, our “Mamo” was the lunch lady of her day -- and way ahead of her time. She had two daughters, four granddaughters and encouraged each of them to pursue their dreams of education and a career.

More than anything else, Mamo led by example. Because of that, Grandma Ruby’s Sweet Shoppe is dedicated to preserving her legacy, and passing it on to future generations of women everywhere. That’s why we chose two young women living their passion to follow “uncommon” careers in speedway racing. We’d love to introduce you to them now.
